CLEAR INFORMATION BEFORE YOU BOOK

Locksmith costs
in Fife & Kinross.

DFM has no callout charge. Labour and any parts needed are chargeable. Call David with your location and lock problem to discuss the likely work and cost before you agree to a visit.

What will the work involve?

There is no single price for every lock problem. Getting a door open, repairing its mechanism and fitting replacement locks involve different work and parts.

Getting back inside

For an emergency lockout, explain whether keys are lost, inside the property or broken in the lock. Non-destructive entry is used where suitable; opening a door does not always require a new lock.

Repairing a fault

A sticking door or stiff handle may need attention to its alignment, handle or locking mechanism. Describe the symptoms when discussing uPVC door and window lock repairs. The part at fault affects the repair needed.

Replacing locks

For lock changes and replacements, the number and type of locks matter. Mention any security requirements and how many keys you need. Extra keys for newly fitted locks can be discussed as part of the visit.

What affects your quote?

The lock type, its condition, whether the door is open or locked shut, and the parts required all help determine the work involved. A description or photo may help before the visit, but a fault can need inspection to identify its cause.

Ask what the initial estimate covers and whether anything still needs checking. If extra work or parts are proposed, ask for the revised cost before agreeing to proceed.

Help David assess your job

Give your town and postcode, whether it is a home, business or vehicle, and what happens when you use the key or handle. Say immediately if you are locked out or cannot secure the door.

David is based in Kelty and travels across Fife and Kinross, including Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath. Phone for urgent enquiries so you can discuss current availability and an estimated arrival time.

Before you agree to the work

  • What work does the estimate cover?
  • Are labour, parts and any extra keys included?
  • What is the total, including any applicable VAT?
  • What still needs checking on arrival?
  • How will changes to the work be agreed?

No callout charge

This means no separate callout fee. The locksmith's work and any parts remain chargeable.
